Pat Cheney was commissioned by Glasgow Museums to create jewellery & picture frames based on the retained works of 'Charles Rennie Mackintosh' and the 'Glasgow Four' for the official Mackintosh exhibition 1996-97.

This is the result of that commission.

Pat Cheney's Paintings in Silk use silk itself as a paint pigment, bonding this with a specialist fabric bonding agent.

Pat's silk paintings reflect the environment of her surroundings on the rugged west coast of Scotland, and are perhaps a spontaneous reaction to the very precise disciplines of jewellery design and production.

My work has been described as very organic and botanical. I have a great love of plants which I think is evident in my designs. I am strongly influenced by the environment in which I live, the movement of the ses and the ever changing light and scenery on the West Coast of Scotland. Each piece is individually hand made or hand finished. My work can be made in silver, gold or a mixture of both. I also make tiaras to commision.
